Carrie Underwood to appear on Oprah

Oklahoma native Carrie Underwood, recently named the Academy of Country Music’s Entertainer of The Year and three-time Top Female Vocalist, will make her second appearance on ”The Opray Winfrey Show” Tuesday. 

According to a news release, Underwood will appear on a country-themed episode of “Oprah.” Underwood performs her No. 1 hit “Just a Dream” on the show. 

The show taped in late March at Harpo Studios in Chicago the day after the show sent a crew to Nashville to get a day-in-the-life snapshot of Underwood as she prepares for a new album. Fans will get sneak peak at a songwriting session and a workout with her personal fitness trainer, according to the release.

Since winning “American Idol” in 2005, Checotah’s favorite daughter has become one of the most popular performers in the nation. With the release of her sophomore album “Carnival Ride,” she has now sold 10 million albums in just more than three years and has notched nine No. 1 singles. Her debut album, “Some Hearts,” is the biggest selling “American Idol” debut project to date, having sold more than seven million albums in the United States. Her many accolades include 8 Billboard Awards, 8 Academy of Country Music Awards, 5 Country Music Association Awards, 5 American Music Awards, 4 CMT Music Awards, 4 Grammy Awards, 5 People’s Choice Awards, 2 BMI Songwriter Awards, and many more.
