Chris Cagle stars in benefit concert for storm victims
ARDMORE – Country singer-songwriter Chris Cagle will headline a benefit show this weekend for the victims of the Feb. 10 tornado that struck Carter County.
The Tornado Benefit Jam with Chris Cagle and Friends will start at 5 p.m. Saturday at Heritage Hall, 220 W Broadway in Ardmore. Along with Cagle, the event will feature performances by Jeff Hobbs and the Jacks, Kirk Riggs and the Dewey Drivers, Courtney Now, Logan Russell with Strongwood Band and Will Porter.
Several music stars have donated autographed guitars and other items that will be raffled off for $5 donations. The donors include Cagle, Clint Black, Miranda Lambert, Stoney Larue, Micky and the Motor Cars, Jack Ingram, Jason Boland and the Stragglers, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Randy Travis, Bonnie Raitt, Rick Springfield and ZZ Top.
Donations of canned food and bottled water also will accepted at the venue.
Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at www.ticketstorm.com.
Eight people died and more than a dozen were seriously injured when a tornado struck Carter County on Feb. 10, destroying 114 homes.
