Tulsa’s BOK Center is set for a “Mac” attack
TULSA – Fleetwood Mac will play the BOK Center May 3 as part of its first tour in five years.
The famed pop/rock group announced last month its “Unleashed” tour, its first tour since 2003. On Wednesday, the band announced 29 additional dates, including shows in Tulsa, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas and Los Angeles. The tour now includes 44 shows and kicks off March 1 in Pittsburgh.
“We love our band and think the title of the tour “Unleashed” perfectly describes how we all feel when we get on stage together – especially in 2009. We’re so happy to get back out on the road, perform everyone’s favorite songs and see our fans,” said the band in a joint statement.
With the retirement of singer/pianist Christine McVie, the band now includes drummer Mick Fleetwood, bassist John McVie, singer Stevie Nicks and singer/guitarist Lindsey Buckingham. Nicks told the Associated Press that chemistry among the members is still strong.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members will perform their greatest hits from the band’s illustrious career, which includes multiple Grammy awards and millions in record sales.
Tickets for the Tulsa show will go on sale at 10 a.m. Jan. 26 and will be available online at www.bokcenter.com, by phone (866) 726-5287 and at area Reasor’s and Homeland stores and the Arby’s Box Office. Ticket prices are set at $149.50, $79.50 and $49.50.
The Tulsa venue is set to host several other big shows this year, including Billy Joel and Elton John, Brad Paisley and AC/DC.
