Rascal Flatts letting fans design their new album cover

A collaboration between People’s Choice and country music trio Rascal Flatts, the People’s Choice Award winner for favorite music group, was announced today, kicking off a contest for fans to create and vote on the cover art for the band’s sixth studio album.
The album, “Unstoppable,” is due out April 7. Rascal Flatts’ members are Gary LeVox (lead vocals), Jay DeMarcus (bass guitar, keyboards, vocals), and Joe Don Rooney (lead guitar, vocals), who hails from Picher.
“It only makes sense to have our fans design and decide the cover of our new CD since they are the ones who make it possible every day for us to make new music and tour,” said LeVox in a news release. “We’ve got a creative and loyal group of fans and are very excited to see the designs they come back with.”
Submissions will be accepted until Jan. 22 at the People’s Choice website, www.pcaVOTE.com. On Jan. 28, the band will narrow down the selections and present their top choices to the fans, who will ultimately decide which image will grace the album cover. The winning designer and image will be revealed in February.
“Today’s fans want to know that when it comes to the artists they cherish, their voices are being heard and their opinions matter,” said Fred Nelson, People’s Choice president, in the release. “With this contest, Rascal Flatts is acknowledging their fans’ devotion by putting them in charge of a key element in the creation of their new album and we at People’s Choice are proud to help make it happen.
By partnering with Rascal Flatts, People’s Choice continues its mission to empower music, movie and television enthusiasts with a voice in the entertainment industry. Participants can sign up at no cost to be a People’s Choice community member at www.pcaVOTE.com, enabling them to enter their submissions and cast their votes. Creative elements are available on www.pcaVOTE.com to incorporate into the album cover or use as inspiration. All rules and regulations are also available on the Web site.
