New releases
The lists of new releases are gradually improving after the post-Christmas slump.
In the CD category, fans of the Red Dirt and Texas music scenes have reason to rejoice with the release of “Undone: A Musicfest Tribute to Robert Earl Keen.” This live album, recorded last winter at the annual MusicFest in Steamboat Springs, Colo., features several artists with Oklahoma ties, including Cody Canada, Jason Boland and Brandon Jenkins. It also includes several Texans, including Reckless Kelly, Cory Morrow, Bonnie Bishop and Keen himself. (I’ll have more on this release, including a full track listing, in a separate post.)
Among the DVDs, I’m personally looking forward to seeing “Pineapple Express,” one of the Judd Apatow crowd’s 2008 comedies.
In the books, Janet Evanovich has penned “Plum Spooky,” another of her “Between-the-Numbers” novels in the Stephanie Plum series.
