Reba McEntire on Country Weekly cover
Oklahoma country music star Reba McEntire is featured on the cover of the Dec. 29 issue of Country Weekly, which went on sale today.
The story is titled “Reba McEntire – Home for the Holidays.” The Oklahoma native – who was born in McAlester and raised in Chockie – shares her favorite Christmas memories and family traditions in the cover story, part of the magazine’s 24-page Christmas special.
McEntire recalls that one of her favorite holiday activities as a youngster was decorating the Christmas tree – not just once, but again and again.
“My sister Susie and me would get bored in the afternoon, so we would go ask Mama if we could redecorate the tree and she would let us,” she tells Country Weekly. “Mama would let us redecorate five or six times before Christmas.”
The singer also shares stories of treasured Christmas gifts and makes her own list of her favorite holiday albums by other artists.
Oklahoma star Toby Keith also has a spot on the issue’s cover; the magazine is offering a chance to win a truck and to tour with him.
