AWFJ announces nominees for its 2008 film awards
The Alliance of Women Film Journalists, of which I am a member, recently announced its nominees for its 2008 EDA (Excellent Dynamic Activism) Awards.
Among the films garnering multiple nominees: “Frozen River,” “Slumdog Millionaire,” “Happy-Go-Lucky,” “Milk,” “Frost/Nixon,” “Doubt” and “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.”
Along with the typical critics association awards for best film, director, actresses and actors, the AWFJ gives out the EDA Female Focus Awards, with categories including best woman director, Hanging in There Award for Persistence, Actress Defying Age and Ageism and more.
The organization also hands out the EDA Special Mention Awards, which include the Hall of Shame Award, Remake That Shouldn’t Have Been Made Award, Most Egregious Age Difference Between The Leading Man and The Love Interest Award and more.
