Paseo Gallery Walk preview

The Paseo Arts District is offering this weekend an extended version of the monthly Paseo Gallery Walk. This month’s gallery walk hours are 6 to 10 tonight, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday in the arts district, 28 and N Walker to 30 and N Dewey.

Tonight’s attractions include a tree lighting, wine tastings, hot cider, hot chocolate, carolers, along with many openings of new art exhibits.

A second Holiday Gallery Walk is scheduled for noon to 9 p.m. Dec. 19 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 20.

- “Inspirations,” In Your Eye Studio & Gallery, 3005 A Paseo

The exhibit includes work by Oklahoma artists Karen Orr, Carolyn Chandler and the late Kay Orr. The gallery will also be hosting tonight a wine tasting with the Sand Hill Vineyard near Calumet.

The show runs thru Dec. 30.

Karen Orr has joined forces with Carolyn Chandler and the late Kay Orr to present their views of life, art and inspiration. This exhibit will feature a variety paintings created by the three artists in a multitude of mediums and subject matter. The combined works show the inspiration that each has had on the other and you will see similarities of technique and approach, yet each artist yields distinctive results.

- The 6th Annual “Virgen de Guadalupe & Other Sacred Images Exhibit,” Adelante! Gallery, 3003 Paseo

For the sixth season, the gallery is celebrating the sacred through a variety of original artwork by 12 Oklahoma artists. The exhibit, which runs through Dec. 27, includes mixed media on tile and silk, paintings, sculpture, pottery, glass, fiber, jewelry and photography. Featured artists are Cynthia Wolf, Lynn Farrar, Clarissa Sharp, Regina Murphy, Teresa Rendon, Linda Rous, Marie Miller, Doris Bewley, Dakota Wolf, Sue Hale, Celia Haddad, Annalisa Campbell, Lyn Kopta, Jill Brett and Jeff Gardner.
Tonight’s opening will include a tree lighting, carolers, mariachi band and holiday treats.

- “All Things Small & Great,” Adelante!

Adelante! Gallery artists Clive R. Tyler, Thomas Stotts, Nancy Dunlop Cawdrey, Sandra VanderWall, Paula Jones, Cynthia Wolf, Jan Hutchinson, Gael Collar and Dakota Wolf created smaller works in a variety of media. The exhibit will run through Jan. 15. Also, enjoy hot cider, holiday treats, and the festive spirit of the gallery during the Gallery Walk.

The theme of small works will continue at the Mariposa gallery, where gallery artists Lyn Kopta, Jill Brett, Rema Imes, Maricel Kuhn, Loeta Venable and Ladd Adams have created their own smaller-scale originals.

Fractured masterworks by David Crismon, sculptural objects by Charleen Weidell, and a festive array of art scaled for holiday gifting will welcome visitors to JRB Art at The Elms during December. All three shows open with a reception on tonight during the monthly Gallery Walk . The exhibits run through Dec. 27.
