CD review: “Twilight” soundtrack

Original soundtrack, “Twilight” (Summit Entertainment/Chop Shop/Atlantic Records)
Since “Twilight” author Stephenie Meyer publicly acknowledged the bands that inspired her writing, even posting playlists for her books on her Web site, her hordes of ardent fans have been speculating about the soundtrack to the movie version of the first book.
Like the film, the soundtrack, which is No. 1 on the Billboard charts, proves faithful to the writer’s vision. Several of Meyer’s favorites make the cut on the album, which has a fittingly angsty tone with just enough variety to prevent emo overload. Half the 12 tracks are originals, while the others are previously released material.
Muse, one of Meyer’s greatest inspirations, opens the disc with the darkly pulsating “Supermassive Black Hole,” and Linkin Park’s “Leave out All the Rest” builds on the album’s atmospheric brooding. Collective Soul’s catchy “Tremble for My Beloved” simultaneously adds to the moody feel and offers a break from the gloom.
Among the new material, punk-pop group Paramore contributes two songs, the urgent anthem “Decode” and driving ballad “I Caught Myself.” Hayley Williams’ clear and earnest vocals make her an appropriate voice for “Twilight” heroine Bella Swan.
Robert Pattinson, who plays dreamy vampire Edward in the film, mumbles through a Nick Drake impression for the low-key love song “Never Think,” while composer Carter Burwell offers the evocative instrumental “Bella’s Lullaby.”
Though the soundtrack often overwhelms when watching the movie, as a collection of songs, the album should appeal to Meyers and her fans.

I just saw Twilight and thought that it was pretty good. I think that what they put in the movie was great but they could have put more in. I know it was a low budget film but I was still expecting to see a little more shine on Edward. I loved what they did with this movie though and think that it is a must see.
I agree with the girl above me the movie was good but they should of done it by the book. But still it was an AMAZING movie.

Twilight sucked balls. The books were bland and uninteresting and the movie didn’t have a single redeemable quality to it. Low budget effects, terrible acting. The only thing close to being good was the soundtrack, however, Muse decided to put all of their most popular songs on it, not their best, once again whoring themselves to the demands of pop culture.
i think the movie was great but i reeally think that you should have put the fact that Jasper can make people feel whatever way he wanted them too that’s a really important fact seeing as how Jasper is the best ;D

wow, this was one of the greatest movies i have seen in a long time, the acting was awesome. EDWARD AND BELLA WERE SO AMAZING BUT EDWARD OF COURSE WAS THE BEST, HE WAS A GREAT ACTOR EVEN BEFORE TWILIGHT AND HIS SINGING WAS SO AMAZING AND AGAIN HE WAS SO GORGUOUS AND DEAD SEXY, HE IS ONE OF THE HOTTEST MALES THAT EVER HIT THE EARTH. The Books Were Alottttttt Better Than The Movie. So Much More detailed and such. I think the movie could’ve been a little bit more explainatory, With the meadow scene and the airport scene, Which totally got cut out by the way =/ And I agree with everyone who said jasper’s talents could’ve been explained more and displayed more. And Bella and Edward’s makeout scene? It Neverrrrrrrrrrrrr got like that in twilight. They kissed, For a short amount of time. I Guess i was just let down a litle by the movie. Sorry If I’m complaining, Everyone else seemed to love it.
i loved the movie! i agree tho i was a little disappointed! i wish there was more explanation on Jasper and all the other cullens like carlisle, i know its impossible to fit the whole book in a 2 hour movie, but everything seemed kind a….rushed. like in the book you understand why they fell in love, the process, and in the movie, it was kinda from one day to another, AND i didnt like kristen stewart as bella. features wise, she was what i expected, acting wise, ugh, not so good.
but overall, if ur a fan ull enjoy to see some parts of the book come to life, just dont expect to see them how u did in the book, and expect to see somestuff u didnt expect,lol
