More than 1 million fans turn out for Carrie Underwood’s “Carnival Ride Tour”

More than 1 millon fans have turned out to see Carrie Underwood perform dates on her “Carnival Ride Tour” so far this year.
By the end of 2008, the Oklahoma native will have performed 137 live concerts, not counting her many Grand Ole Opry and television performances. The current fall leg of her tour has included Wednesday’s top-notch sold-out show in her home state at Tulsa’s BOK Center, a sold-out run of five shows in Canada earlier this month, and many other sell-outs across the United States.
Underwood, who this week notched her ninth No. 1 single with “Just a Dream,” will take a quick break from the “Carnival Ride Tour” Nov. 12 to host the 42nd Annual CMA Awards with Brad Paisley. She is nominated in two CMA categories, female vocalist of the year, a title she has won the past two years, and album of the year for ”Carnival Ride.”
She will depart Nashville the day after the CMA’s to resume her tour in Bakersfield, Calif.
