Jeff Dunham’s Christmas special already a best seller
Popular comedian/ventriloquist Jeff Dunham, who performed earlier this month at Tulsa’s BOK Center, will release his first holiday special on Comedy Central, DVD and CD in November. But fans have already made Dunham’s “A Very Special Christmas Special” a best seller through online pre-orders, according to a news release.
“A Very Special Christmas Special” will premiere on Comedy Central on Nov. 16. According to Amazon.com, the DVD will be available Nov. 18. Dunham’s CD of humorous carols “Don’t Come Home for Christmas” drops Nov. 4.
Dunham and his “Suitcase Posse” of outrageous puppet characters have sold 2 million copies of his “Arguing With Myself” and “Spark Of Insanity” DVDs. “Spark Of Insanity” continues to still draw millions of viewers when it airs on Comedy Central a year after it debuted. His clips on You Tube and other online sites have racked up an astounding 200 million views worldwide.
“A Very Special Christmas Special” is sure to be one of Comedy Central’s most watched shows ever, just like his two previous specials, and is all but guaranteed to hit the one million mark in sales.
Walmart has already ordered nearly a quarter of a million DVDs for their holiday retail season, and it is already topping the comedy DVD sales chart at Amazon.com in pre-orders. The title has been as high as No. 9 on the overall DVD sales chart for the online retailer, according to the release.
Dunham’s first music CD, “Don’t Come Home For Christmas” is also a top sales item on Amazon, thanks to pre-orders. It recently topped the rankings at No. 6 alongside CDs by such superstars as Coldplay, Metallica and Bob Dylan, according to the release.
Dunham’s holiday antics definitely will be something worth seeing as the Christmas seasond draws near.
