In big music news today: Robert Plant and Alison Krauss will play a benefit show to raise money for Hurricane Ike relief efforts at 7:30 p.m. next Friday, Sept. 26 at Oklahoma City’s Zoo Amphitheatre.

The duo, who worked together on the terrific 2007 album “Raising Sand,” were scheduled to perform at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in Houston on Sept. 26, but the show was canceled in the wake of the hurricane’s devastation.

Ticket prices aren’t yet set in stone, but our understanding is that the general range will be from approximately $35 to approximately $135.

General admission and reserved-seat tickets will go on sale Monday at www.tickets.com or by phone at (800) 511-1552.

My family and I watched Plant and Jimmy Page absolutely rock the Cox Convention Center (AKA the Myriad) back in 1998, and the former Led Zeppelin frontman has lost none of his stunning vocal prowess and rock god aura over the years.

The show should be amazing, and it’s going to a good cause. All proceeds go to the Texas Gulf Coast Hurricane Relief Fund, according to a news release.
