The action-comedy movie “Beer for My Horses,” co-starring and co-written by Oklahoma entertainers Toby Keith and Rodney Carrington, opened in limited release in Oklahoma City and several other markets on Aug. 8.

According to a news release, the film’s word-of-mouth has been positive enough to have theater owners requesting it, with more than 80 additional openings planned in the next two weeks.

“Beer For My Horses” opened tonight in new theaters in the Oklahoma City; Atlanta; Cincinnati; Dallas; Detroit; Indianapolis; Minneapolis; New Orleans; Salt Lake City; San Francisco; St.Louis, Mo., Des Moines, Iowa, Memphis, Tenn.; and Washington, D.C., areas.

Next week, the movie will open in more theaters in markets including Birmingham, Ala.; Chattanooga, Tenn.; Huntsville, Ala.; Savannah, Ga.; Charlotte, N.C.; Charleston, S.C.; Knoxville, Tenn.; Boston; and Philadelphia.

“Beer For My Horses” stars Keith and Carrington as sheriff’s deputies chasing a drug lord and kidnapper in classic road trip comedy. The film shares the same title of Keith’s No. 1 hit duet with Willie Nelson, who also appears in the movie.
