Jeff Dunham doing first holiday special
Comedian/puppeteer Jeff Dunham will take on Christmas this year with his first holiday special.
“A Very Special Christmas Special” will debut Nov. 16 on Comedy Central and on DVD.
In the special, Dunham and his wisecracking dummies Walter the Grumpy Retiree, Achmed the Dead Terrorist, Bubba J, Peanut and Jose Jalapeno celebrate the holidays in their unique comic fashion. The special includes Achmed’s holiday song “Jingle Bombs” and Bubba J’s “Roadkill Christmas” recipes for beernog and reindeer jerky.
Dunham taped the special in July in front of a packed house at Milwaukee’s Pabst Theater.
His holiday special, despite the excess use of adverbs in the title, is practically guaranteed big ratings on Comedy Central: His previous specials ”Talking With Myself” and “Spark Of Insanity” are among the most-watched programs ever on the cable network, according to the release.
Before the holiday special airs, Dunham and his puppets will perform at Tulsa’s new BOK Center at 8 p.m. Oct. 3. Tickets are on sale now.
