“The Duchess” contest offers trip to England as prize
Paramount Vantage and VisitBritain are conducting the “Be a Duchess for a Day” sweepstakes in conjunction with the fall release of the film “The Duchess.” Â
Borders is the exclusive retailer for the giveaway, sponsored by the specialty film division of Paramount Pictures and the national tourist board for England, Scotland and Wales.
The period drama “The Duchess” stars Keira Knightley and Ralph Fiennes and is based 0n “Georgiana: Duchess of Devonshire,” the best seller by Amanda Foreman about the rise and fall of 18th century socialite Georgiana Cavendish, Duchess of Devonshire. The duchess was a direct ancestor of Princess Diana.
The movie opens Oct. 3 in Oklahoma City and Tulsa.
The sweepstakes runs through Sept. 30, according to a news release. The grand prize winner will receive a trip for two to England, including four nights accommodation at a four-star property in East Midlands; a tour of Chatsworth House, the ancestral home of Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire; and a luxurious spa treatment.
To enter the sweepstakes, U.S. residents age 18 and older can visit www.borders.com/duchess and complete the entry form. There’s no purchase necessary to enter. One grand prize winner will be randomly selected from all eligible entries.
