Carrie Underwood’s songs become lullabies

Country music star Carrie Underwood will have her hits turned into lullabies this fall when “Hushabye Baby: Lullaby Renditions of Carrie Underwood” comes out Nov. 18.
The creative team behind the successful “Rockabye Baby!” series, which converts hits by the likes of Metallica, Green Day and the Rolling Stones into lullabies, branched out this year into the country music genre.
The “Hushabye Baby” series transforms popular country songs into instrumental lullabies featuring traditional instruments like acoustic guitar, fiddle, banjo and dobro along with the tinkling sounds of the celeste, glockenspiel and xylophone.
In April, an initial series of four “Hushabye Baby” CDs took hits from various country artists including Toby Keith, Rascal Flatts, Reba McEntire, Miranda Lambert, Brooks & Dunn, Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, Vince Gill and Underwood.
Those four CDs won iParenting Media’s “Excellent Product” Awards and positive reviews from Great American Country TV network, Parade and Parent Guide, according to a news release.
CMH Label Group now is branching into “Hushabye Baby” albums dedicated to individual artists. On Nov. 4, “Hushabye Baby: Lullaby Renditions of Johnny Cash” comes out. On Nov. 18, “Hushabye Baby: Lullaby Renditions of George Strait” and “Hushabye Baby: Lullaby Renditions of Carrie Underwood” will be released.
The Underwood album will include lullaby versions of “So Small” (which also was included on “Hushabye Baby Vol. 1″), “All-American Girl,” “Some Hearts” and, interestingly, “Before He Cheats.” (I guess if there are no vocals, the kids won’t know any better, but parents sure will. Why not include “Last Name” too while you’re at it?)
Given the success of “Rockabye Baby!,” it’s probably safe to expect albums dedicated to other Oklahoma country stars.
