Bonus Video Spotlight: Russell Brand’s VMA guest list
British comedian Russell Brand is hosting the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards on Sept. 7.
Since the Brit isn’t as widely known as some of their past hosts, the entertainment network (I refuse to call it a music video channel anymore) has Brand doing a series of zany promotional videos on MTV.com.
The latest one is quite funny, especially since Brand keeps a straight face while spewing complete rubbish. In it, he outlines his proposed guest list, which includes Thomas Jefferson, Nancy Reagan, Rosa Parks, Marilyn Manson, Hanson and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and “the Renaissance artists that they represent.”
As off-the-wall as Brand’s humor evidently gets, the VMAs won’t need Britney Spears - and yes, of course, MTV is trying to get her to perform again - for the show to get totally out there.
