Previewing “Watchmen”
The trailer for 2009’s film version of the acclaimed graphic novel “Watchmen” is attached to prints of “The Dark Knight.” Naturally, the goosebumps-inducing preview also is making the rounds on the Internet.
You can click here to get a clean, high-quality look at it on Apple’s trailer site.
Also, Entertaiment Weekly is previewing next weekend’s Comic-Con in San Diego with a cover story and other coverage of “Watchmen,” including Q&As with director Zack Snyder, who helmed the hit “300,” and the graphic novel’s creator Alan Moore, who isn’t really crazy about this whole movie idea.

The R-rated film version of the dark tale is set for March 6, 2009, release. But Synder and his cast will present a sneak peek of “Watchmen” at Comic-Con, where I’m sure the fanboys and uber-nerds assembled won’t hesitate to give their unabashedly honest opinions of what they think of Synder’s approach to the beloved graphic novel.
The Hugo Award-winning graphic novel is set in an alternative version of 1985, in which Richard Nixon is still president, superheroes really do exist, and the U.S. and Soviet Union are hurtling ever closer to nuclear war. In the midst of this unstable environment, a vigilante named Rorschach investigates the murder of a “costumed adventurer” - only one of them really has what you’d call super powers - named the Comedian and uncovers a diabolical conspiracy.
The film version will star Jackie Earle Haley, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Billy Crudup, Patrick Wilson, Matthew Goode, Carla Gugino and Malin Akerman.
