Today’s featured event:

It’s Father’s Day, so it’s time to celebrate your daddy.

Orr Family Farm,  14400 S. Western in Oklahoma City, is offering an unusual spin on fishing trips at this year’s Father’s Day on the Farm.

The farm is hosting a Toe Fishing Derby from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today. With strings and floats tied to their toes, fathers and their children will try to catch the most fish. The winner of the competition will receive a $150 gift certificate to Orr Family Farm.

Also, children ages 4 through 12 can compete to see who can pull the most weight behind miniature tractors in the tractor-pedal-pull contest. The winners of each age bracket will receive a $10 gift certificate and eligibility for the state tournament in Norman.

Father’s Day on the Farm will conclude with a cow-milking contest. Fathers and kids will have only two minutes to milk as much as they can from Bessie, the fiberglass cow. The winning team will receive $50 in merchandise from the Orr Family Farm Country Store.

The Orr Family Farm offers a variety of family entertainment, including a train, walk-through maze, old-fashioned carousel and a petting barn.

Father’s Day on the Farm costs $10.50 for adults and children age 2 and older, with half-price admission for fathers.
