“Nashville Star” launched the career of Caldera resident Jason Meadows. The reality TV show has moved this summer to NBC after five seasons on USA Network.

Once again, an Oklahoma resident is competing on the show. Tommy Stanley of Cushing is one of the 12 finalists in the running for the title of “Nashville Star.”

Stanley, 23, who is in the Navy, made it past the first round of the competition last Monday, even though judge John Rich (of Big & Rich) noted that Stanley was noticeably nervous during his performance.

The show airs at 8 p.m. Mondays on NBC (KFOR-4), so you can follow Stanley’s progress on the show at that time.

The Oklahoman’s TV editor Penny Soldan has more about Stanley’s Navy background on her blog. Click here to read her post.

In addition, Penny recently did an interview with Stanley. You can click here to read the story, in which he talks about his Oklahoma connection.
