Oklahoma country music star Toby Keith once again topped the country music charts with his newest CD release, the two-disc “35 Biggest Hits” collection.

While the songs in the compilation date back to his first hit in 1993, Keith’s songs are faring just fine in the days of digital music.

The 34 previous hits and his hot new single “She’s A Hottie,”  the collection’s sole new track, have combined for more than 4.5 million paid downloads on sites such as iTunes, according to a news release.

With the exception of “Hottie,” these download numbers date back to before the release of “35 Biggest Hits.” But they show just how popular Keith’s biggest hits have been: “As Good As I Once Was” has notched 510,000 downloads; “Beer For My Horses,” 408,000; and “Courtesy Of The Red, White And Blue,” 395,000.

Remember that post last month about Forbes naming Keith the top-earning country artist? This probably has quite a bit to do with it.
