See glass art, jewelry and more on Paseo

Because of an assignment, I will be unable to attend the monthly Paseo Gallery Walk tonight, as is my custom.

But the historic Paseo Arts District is offering plenty to see, taste and experience at the art walk, which takes place from 6 to 10 p.m. tonight and noon to 6 p.m. Saturday in the Paseo, which runs from 28th and N Walker to 30th and N Dewey.

More than 60 Paseo artists will be showing their work in about 15 galleries. The event also will feature the work of guest artists, live music and wine tastings. The neighborhood’s gift shops and restaurants also will be open.

The monthly walk also includes Sneak-A-Peek Saturday, when patrons can watch the Paseo artists work and give art demonstrations.

According to a news release, six art openings are taking place in the Paseo during the gallery walk, which is always the first weekend of the month.

The art openings include an exhibit of works by local artists Annette Sinesio and Jean Keil at Paseo Art Space; glass art by nationally recognized craftsmen and paintings by OKC artist Ernesto Sanchez at JRB Art at the Elms; and the “Text as Texture” jewelry show by Sarah Davison at In Your Eye Studio & Gallery.

If you get the chance, talk a walk and patronize the arts in the Paseo this weekend.
