Toby preparing for tour
Country music star Toby Keith, who lives in Norman, will embark on his summer tour on June 19, opening in Birmingham, Ala., and continuing on the road through fall.
Ford Trucks will once again sponsor Keith’s tour, which has been dubbed the “Biggest & Baddest Tour.”
He will share the bill with duo Montgomery Gentry, which will release its new album in June.
Other openers on the tour will be Carter’s Chord, a trio of three sisters who are on Keith’s Show Dog Nashville label; Mica Roberts, a new signee to Keith’s label, a longtime member of his touring band and a Locust Grove product; and Trailer Choir, another Show Dog Nashville newcomer.
Keith will release a new two-CD compilation, “Toby Keith’s 35 Biggest Hits,” on May 6. It includes the new single, “She’s a Hottie,” which he performed at last week’s CMT Music Awards.
