Rascal Flatts, which includes Joe Don Rooney of Picher, has been added to the lineup of performers at the 2008 CMT Music Awards.

The awards will air live April 14 from Nashville’s Curb Event Center at Belmont University on CMT and CMT.com. Previously announced performers include Carrie Underwood, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, Alan Jackson, Taylor Swift and the show’s hosts, Billy Ray and Miley Cyrus.

Rascal Flatts, which is nominated for three CMT awards, will perform the song “Bob That Head” from the trio’s hit “Still Feels Good” album. The group is offering fans a chance to contribute to the performance, according to a news release.

From today through April 7, fans can upload or mail 20- to 30-second video clips of them bobbing their heads and singing along to the song’s chorus. During the group’s CMT Music Awards performance, a selection of fan-submitted videos will be shown on monitors behind the band.

“We have often said we have the best fans in the world,” said Rascal Flatts’ frontman Gary Levox in the release. “And now we will see just how creative they are. They have been the best part of our careers, it will be fun to include them into our 2008 CMT Music Awards performance. We can’t wait!”
