Carrie and Toby to play the CMT awards
Country Music Television announced today that Oklahomans Carrie Underwood and Toby Keith will be among the performers at the 2008 CMT Music Awards.
The seventh annual awards show will be broadcast live from Nashville’s Curb Event Center at Belmont University at 7 p.m. April 14 on CMT and CMT.com.
Other country stars set to perform include Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley, Sugarland and Taylor Swift, according to a news release.
Fans get to vote on the nominees and winners of the CMT awards. People can vote at CMT.com through Monday to pick the top nominees in the categories.
On March 6, CMT will reveal the four finalists in each of the 13 categories, except video of the year. Fans then will have through April 11 to cast their online votes for the winners.
The video of the year finalists will be announced at the beginning of the April 14 awards show. Fans will have the chance to vote online throughout the broadcast, and the winner will be announced at the end of the show.
