Country music trio Rascal Flatts, which includes guitarist Joe Don Rooney of Picher, has reached a couple of big milestones.

The group’s third studio album, “Feels Like Today,” has been certified quintuple plantinum by the RIAA. That means sales of more than 5 million units, folks.

Rascal Flatts is one of only three country group’s in the last 25 years to have an album exceed 5 million in sales, according to a news release.  Alabama and the Dixie Chicks are the other two.

Concurrently, the RIAA certified the band’s most recent disc, “Still Feels Good,” platinum, with sales of more than 1.7 million units. Their 2002 CD “Melt” has attained the triple-platinum level.

Since releasing their first CD eight years ago, Rascal Flatts has sold more than 16 million albums and notched nine No. 1 singles.

“Still Feels Good” indeed.
