Loved reading this story. It would be so nice to have all of this information in a book. I bought the Kivlehen House a few years ago, renovated it and it is not on the National Register of Historic Places. We have so much rich history in Edmond.

It is impressive that a building has lasted that long. I am impressed at how it continues to be maintained instead of tearing it down and building a whole new building.

Mary Phillips,
My name is Donald Gordon Wells. I live in Texas and I’m sending you this note in hope you can help me. I know almost nothing about my family history in Oklahoma. I know my grand mother lived in Nichols Hills in the 40’s and 50’s where I visited her when I was little. Her married name was Wells. I heard one time that my grandfather ran a general store on a Indian reservation and that my grandmother taught school there. I would guess this was in the early 1900s. My dad Gordon Charles Wells I think was born on the reservation. At one time he owned a Café called the Breeze Inn. I remember a robbery he had and they were all laughing that the news paper wrote the crooks Breezed in the back door and out the front door at the Breeze Inn. I would guess this was in early 50’s. He had two sisters Lois and Dorothy. I think their married name were Grant and Speck respectively. They also live in Oklahoma City area. Lois in ‘I think’ a place called Spring Lake area?
I know I’m asking a lot but if you can give me some hint how to research my family back ground on the internet I would appreciate it. If you have time for this kind of thing I can be reached by email at Wells.don@netzero.com.

Thank You,

Donald Gordon Wells
