My name is Mary Phillips and I have nearly 30 years experience with The Oklahoman’s Archives.

When I first came to work in the Newspaper Library, as it was called then, I clipped

articles from the paper to be filed in envelopes and filed those  in cabinets.

Photographs would arrive in the library and would be filed too.

Times sure have changed.

Now we’re digital and information can be at your fingertips within minutes.

History is always with us, whether it happened minutes ago or years ago.

I hope to bring some of the people and events covered by The Oklahoman that have

slipped into the past and re-introduce them to our readers.
