Out-of-the-Red Friday
It’s Black Friday which means mad dashes to the mall, insane drivers and aggressive shoppers – so why do so many people participate in this wild event? For the amazing sales of course!!! Wikipedia states it this way, “Black Friday was originally so named because of the heavy traffic on that day, although most contemporary uses of the term refer instead to it as the beginning of the period in which retailers are in the black (i.e., turning a profit)”. You’re telling me for more than half the year retailers aren’t making a profit?! Wow!
I was on assignment at the mall this morning and what I saw was incredible. I witnessed people shopping in their pajamas, blood-shot eyes and great evidence of shoppers who haven’t showered. Is Black Friday worth it? Well I saw some fantastic deals, so it might be. Though, I think I prefer my sleep to crazed shoppers.
